The HP Access Control Smartcard Solution for U.S. Government has won a Best of FOSE Award in the Security Hardware Category. This optional feature for HP's workgroup multifunction printers (MFPs) allows government agencies to use smart cards, such as DOD’s Common Access Cards, to control the scanning, copying and faxing features workers can use. When a user inserts a CAC, the MFP will query Active Directory for a set of permissions. HP had government agencies’ mandate to provide employees with smart identification cards in mind when it designed this feature.

HP received nine Digital Imaging Marketing Association Awards (DIMA) at the PMA 2009 tradeshow, including two Innovative Digital Product Awards, across multiple imaging and printing categories.

HP iPrint Photo and Photo Center 4.0 both received top honors in the ‘Best in Show’-style competition. DIMA members chose the products for being technologically innovative or first of their kind.

The Digital Printer Shoot-Out Awards showcases competing products that use similar digital printing technology. HP’s winning entries, chosen by DIMA members prior to PMA, included the HP Photosmart ML1000 Minilab Printer, HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One, HP Photosmart D7560 Printer, HP Photosmart D5460 Printer, HP Photosmart A636 Home Photo Center, HP Durable Banner with DuPont Tyvek® and the HP Designjet Z6100 Photo Printer.

Computer Shopper has awarded an Editor’s Choice award to the Pavilion Elite e9120f. Giving it an 8.3 out of 10 score, they commented that the Elite e920f offers a great balance of application performance and price in a mainstream desktop PC.

Computer Shopper has given the HP Pavilion Slimline s5160f an 8.2 out of 10 score and an Editors’ Choice Award saying that those needing a fair amount of PC muscle for video editing and other CPU-centric tasks, but also want to kick back and watch a Blu-ray movie or some digital TV will find a lot to like in this PC. In fact, the HP Pavilion Slimline s5160f could serve as a near-perfect dorm PC, particularly if paired with a small HDTV.

PC Magazine has chosen Compaq Presario CQ5110f to receive an Editors’ Choice award. The CQ5110f earned 4 out of a possible 5 star rating for entry-level desktops and is priced to offer a better value than many compact nettops. The chassis is a bit larger, but it's a dual-core, full-featured desktop, and doesn't have to make the compromises that nettops make.

With 4 out of a possible 5 star rating, Pavilion dv5t has earned Laptop’s Editors’ Choice Award. Available in the July/August timeframe, according to the published report, the dv5t backs up its aesthetics with serious horsepower.

PC Magazine posted a glowing report of the Artist Edition dv2800t notebook, awarding it an Editors’ Choice Award and a rating of 4.5 out of 5. Calling it a work of art, they stated that the dv2800t is a head-turner, and an inexpensive one at that.

In a comparative review of 2-processor servers (Dell, Fujitsu, IBM, Lenovo and Sun,) HP’s ProLiant DL380 G6 scores an Editors’ Choice award. ZDNet states that HP’s total solution is a hard act to beat — all the more so given the services, software and other products that can be wrapped around HP and its resellers’ offerings.

HP’s fault-tolerant Integrity NonStop NB50000c BladeSystem has won the Gold for best server in 2008 in the SearchDatacenter.com Product of the Year competition, topping IBM’s z10 Business Class mainframe and Sun’s SPARC Enterprise T5440 server. HP has lowered the pricing bar for entry into fault-tolerance computing with the NB5000c, and analysts have commented that HP's decision to use blade form factors for fault-tolerant servers is beneficial for users.

Congratulations to the HP ProLiant 580 G5, for having been selected as SQL Server Magazine EDITOR’S BEST 2008 GOLD WINNER in the Hardware category. The magazine calls the ProLiant 580 G5 an evolutionary step forward, with particular enticements for SQL Server admins.

Editors from Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine recently announced the winners of the Best of TechEd 2009 Awards at Tech Ed 2009 and HP’s StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) was named winner in the Hardware, Networking and Storage category.

HP StorageWorks D2D Backup System has been selected as a Windows IT Pro Magazine Community Choice 2008 Gold Winner in the Backup & Recovery Products category. Windows IT Pro magazine calls Storageworks D2D a product that makes automated backup and recovery easy and affordable and works with your existing tape-backup process.

SYS-CON Media, the world's leading i-technology media and events company, has announced the winners of its Virtualization Journal 2008 Readers' Choice Awards. And the winner in the Best Grid Virtualization category is HP’s Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager.

The Virtual Journal’s Readers’ Choice awards recognize the best tools, solutions, and platform offerings in 18 categories. Winners were selected through reader-submitted nominations, followed by online voting at SYS-CON Media's world-leading Virtualization Journal online magazine site.

HP's Insight Power Manager (IPM) has placed third in SearchDataCenter.com’s Products of the Year awards in the Capacity and Power Management Tools category.

Focusing solely on the power side of the equation, IPM allows users to measure power consumption and air temperature for servers, as well as setting power caps for servers that don't need the maximum consumption listed on the nameplates. For more details check the URL attached.

Everything Channel awarded HP with their Best Midmarket Solution – Hardware Winner at the recent Midsize Enterprise Summit West conference. The awards were voted on by midsize CIO attendees in six categories: best hardware solution, software solution, services solution, best execution of a midmarket IT solution, best presentation and best of show.

HP won in their category over Compellent, Kace and TriGeo. HP also captured this award at MES West last year.

EDS Applications Modernization Services has been named to KMWorld’s Trend Setting Product list of 2009, with the article featured in the September 2009 issue and then online. These product awards began in 2003 with more than 800 products assessed by our judging panel this year. The products selected all demonstrate clearly identifiable technology breakthroughs that serve the vendors’ full spectrum of constituencies, especially their customers.

Each year, Network World Magazine names 10-12 products as its ‘Best of the Tests’ designees. From the previous 12 months of testing the highest scoring products win an award in the specific product category in which it fits. The HP BladeSystem c3000 Enclosure product received the nod in the category of Network Infrastructure. The BladeSystem c3000 is now available in tower or rack model configurations, and offers a number of other optional features and interconnect modules.

In a recent Network World magazine comparative review of monitoring and management products for midrange networks, OpenView Network Node Manager scored Clear Choice honors. The review notes, “Network Node Manager has a distributed architecture that scales well to handle larger and more complex network environments.
